The Lakehead Thunderwolves will butt heads with the Ryerson Rams in the best-of-three OUA West Division semi-finals, with game #1 set for Wednesday night at Ryerson. The Wolves will return home for game #2 on Friday night, and if necessary, game #3 will also be played at the Fort William Gardens on Saturday night. Tickets for game #2 are on sale at the Gardens box office.

Last Time Out

Lakehead swept the York Lions two games to none in the OUA West Division quarter-finals last week. The Wolves took game #1 at York 4-2, and then returned home to finish off the Lions with a 5-2 victory at the Fort William Gardens.

Ryerson had more of a battle in its first-round series, but were still able to knock out the Brock Badgers two games to one.

Series History

Lakehead has an all-time record of 9-1 versus Ryerson, but this group of Rams is a very formidable team.

The two squads met at the Fort William Gardens for a pair of games in mid-January, with both sides taking one win each. Lakehead took the first game 4-3, but Ryerson responded with a 7-1 victory the following night.

About the Rams

Ryerson is led by Head Coach Graham Wise, now in his eighth season behind the Rams bench. Prior to that, Wise coached York for 19 years, so his 27 total campaigns make him the Dean of OUA coaches.

The Rams have an explosive offense, having led the OUA West Division with 118 goals for this season. Sophomore forward Jamie Wise and freshman Dominic Alberga finished the season second and third respectively in OUA scoring, and freshman rearguard Peter Hermenegildo was third in scoring amongst OUA defencemen.

Junior netminder Troy Passingham has handled the bulk of the goaltending duties for the Rams.
