The Lakehead Thunderwolves will host the Queens Gaels for a pair of games this Friday and Saturday at the Fort William Gardens, with the opening face-off set for 7:00 PM both nights.

Last Time Out

Lakehead opened the OUA regular season on the road at one of the toughest venues in the league; Le Colisee at the University of Quebec-Three Rivers. The Thunderwolves lost both games as they were edged 4-2 by the Patriotes on Friday night before dropping a 6-1 decision on Saturday.

Queens split a pair of home games last weekend beginning with a 3-1 loss to York on Friday, but then rebounded with a 4-3 win over Brock the following night.

Series History

Lakehead has a 9-1 record versus the Gaels all-time, with that lone loss coming last November when the two teams met in Kingston. Queens blanked the Wolves 6-0 in the Friday game, but Lakehead bounced back with a 7-6 overtime victory in the Saturday rematch.

About the Gaels

The Gaels top point-getter last season was defenceman Spencer Abraham, the OUA East Defenceman of the Year. Forwards Darcy Greenaway, Patrick McGillis and Eric Ming are all scoring threats and goaltender Kevin Baille is among the best in the league.

Queens University was established in 1841, and the nickname "Gaels" is a reference to the universitys Scottish heritage.
