The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team returns home this weekend for a pair of games with the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. Game times are set for 7:30 pm on both Friday and Saturday nights at the Fort William Gardens.

Series History
Lakehead holds a commanding 8-1-1 record all-time versus Ontario Tech. The Ridgebacks did not come to the Fort William Gardens last year, as the only games between Lakehead and Ontario Tech were played in Oshawa last November. The Thunderwolves swept that series, winning 3-2 in overtime on the Friday, followed by a 6-3 victory on the Saturday.

Last Time Out
Lakehead is coming off a weekend sweep of the York Lions. The Wolves downed the Lions 7-2 last Friday at York, followed by a 4-3 win on Saturdays game played 60 miles north on Lakeheads satellite campus in Orillia.

Ontario Tech split its two games last week; an 8-1 drubbing at Guelph, followed by a 4-3 home win for the Ridgebacks over Brock.

Road Warriors
Lakehead has played four straight games away from home, and the Wolves won every one of those road contests by sweeping Ottawa and York. That four-game winning streak is the longest in the OUA, and is tied with New Brunswick for the longest in the CIS.

Scoring Leader
The Thunderwolves Matt Caria is currently leading the entire OUA in scoring after six league games. His 5 goals and 7 assists are good for 12 points. Including non-conference games, the junior forward has 14 points.

About the Ridgebacks
Ontario Tech comes into the weekend with a 1-4-0 record in the OUA, so the Ridgebacks will be looking to add to their win total before returning to Oshawa. Their biggest win so far this season was a 3-2 non-conference victory at the University of Michigan.

Ridgebacks to keep an eye on are senior forwards Josh Vatri and Tony Rizzi, the teams top two scorers. Junior Goaltender Jason Guy has proven he can steal games for his team, as evidenced by his 54-save performance in the Ridgebacks win at Michigan.
