Lakehead Athletics and mens hockey Head Coach Pete Belliveau are very happy to announce the commitment of defenseman Andy Zulyniak to the Thunderwolves. Zulyniak will begin play with the Wolves at the upcoming T Bay Tel Varsity Cup tournament.

Zulyniak played in the Jr. A BCHL for the Vernon Vipers from 2003-04 to 2005-06 and was twice named BCHL Interior Division Defenseman of the Year. He played one full season (2002-03) in the WHL for the Prince Albert Raiders before joining Vernon the following season. He also made an eight-game playoff appearance for the WHLs Brandon Wheat Kings in 04-05. This year he began play with the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL but decided that returning to school was his best option.

Coach Belliveau said Zulyniak will provide solid offense from the blueline. Andy has excellent skills and he was very high on our recruiting list and now were very happy to welcome him to the Thunderwolves family.

Last season, Zulyniak was named the Vipers Most Valuable Player, Top Defenseman, and Three Star Award Winner. He had 14 goals and 49 assists for 63 points in 63 games in 05-06.
